Game of Thrones stars’ reaction to the series ending

Game of Thrones finally called it wraps after eight years in production. A journey that began on the 17th of April 2011 came to an epic end on 19th May 2019, having gained a legion of fans along the way. While everyone had been yearning to know how the different story arcs would come to resolution, not many were quite ready for the end when it came. After eight years of the best show that HBO has ever aired, not many were ready to say goodbye to their favorite characters.

The end wasn’t just hard on the fans, it affected the cast too. After eight long and successful seasons, they had gotten attached to their on screen personas, and many of them had to say goodbye too. Working along the same bunch of people over the years also made impressions on most of them, and as the last episode of the series was about to be aired, most of them expressed their feelings of gratitude. Have a look at some of the Game of Thrones stars’ reaction to the series ending:

Emilia Clarke, who Played Daenerys Targaryen

On her social media post commemorating the eight years on the show and saying a final goodbye, Emelia Clarke expressed her feelings and gratitude to the character she had portrayed, Daenerys. In her words, “The Mother of dragons chapter has taken up the whole of my adult life. This woman has taken up the whole of my heart.” She admitted that saying just how much the character meant to her was inexpressible through words. She also went ahead to give a shout out to the entire show, claiming it had impacted her as a woman, actor and human being. Her post ended with a classic shout out to the fans, “Without you there is no us. And now our watch has ended.”

Sophie Turner, who Played Sansa Stark

Having played the dynamic role of Sansa Stark, Sophie Turner has been on the show throughout the eight seasons. The evolution of Sansa Stark was one to watch, and Turner expressed gratitude to the character who she started playing at 13 years old and just completed at 23. She went ahead to give a shout out to all the people she had worked with throughout the years, noting she had learn many life and drama lessons along the way. She ended her post with a thank you note to the fans.

John Bradley, who Played Samwell Tarly

Bradley’s reaction was a walk down memory lane. Jon Snow’s companion on the Night Watch posted rehearsal and prep schedule from way back in 2010, when the first season began filming. He appreciated everyone he had met on set, and thanked them for the journey they had gone through together.

Kristofer Hivju, who Played Tormund Giantsbane
